Keith Hirst:
Building Control Manager:
Hi. My name is Keith Hirst and I’m the Building Control Manager at Rotherham. My career background is focused in the construction industry and at present, I continue to enjoy a successful career in local authority Building Control. Prior to working in Building Control I experienced private sector employment with a major house builder.
My passion for Building Control began at an early stage in my working life. I have always enjoyed the wide variety of work on offer and still get a thrill, from being involved with a project from the early planning stage, through to the completed building ready for people to occupy.
Throughout my career I have placed great emphasis on providing a level of service which excels in meeting customer expectations. My current position has presented me with the opportunity to put this ethos into practice for customers of Rotherham Building Control. As a team we share a vision “to provide an excellent Building Control service for our customer which is continuously improving”
We take pride in offering a first class service through dedicated, conscientious staff, who are customer focused and well trained. Within the BC environment we must always remember our customer has a choice.
At Rotherham we relish the challenge of more complex and wider diverse Building Regulations, which are constantly changing to improve standards and accommodate the technological advancements of 21st century construction practices. I consider this to be a key element to a thriving BC service.
The Building Control department welcomes and embraces change to improve and build on the first class service already enjoyed by our customer. Our excellent customer service has been acknowledged through achieving nationally recognised accreditations, Charter Mark and Customer Service Excellence.
